Hey troops, Techno here, I served from March 1969 through Oct of 1971 & was wondering if any of you were in I Core like I was in that period. The reason I ask is the Army presented us with a bayonett about ten inches long & chromed that slips on to an M-14 which was in scale & was inscribed I Field Force Viet Nam. I'm wondering if you did recieve one did you also receive the model rifle as I did not receive one.
I would like to get my grubby hands on one if any of you know of a location to get one.
I would also like to know if any of you were stationed in Nha Trang or Saigon during that time frame. Regards, Techno

Techno, I never saw Vietnam, I was born in 1971. But I saw enough in Colombia to make me realize that what you Gent's and my Uncle and Dad saw in the 40's and 50's was too much. My era was nothing but a splotch mark. Thank You Kindly for your time! You guys had the coolest music too.

Hi All, yeah its me . to put it in a nutshell i went to thailand in 69 assigned to the 392 deep sar squadron. i was not assigned to viet nam but instead i was based out of u dorn afb, thailand, and spent time at other bases as needed, mostly tak li afb. my main AO was route pack 1 & 2 which was located just north of the DMZ. We were assigned to so many different squadrons and units that our chopper had a rolodex on the side with different unit insignias! (LOL). On july 2 1971 Mr Charles decided to end my military career for me and by july 72 i was home piloting a wheel chair. Oh yeah. I was para rescue. "these things we do..............that others may live."
