And for the bonus round, The Type 99 loosely copied the 98K German Mauser too! Double Bonus the 7.7mm bullets are the same as the .303 Brit. and the 7.62x54Rmm .311" too Alex / Jeff
Triple Bonus, The German's had Carcano Carbines in 7.92x57mm too!
Last Edit: The German's also had captured Mosin Nagant rifles rechambered to 7.92x57mm. Extra Credit bonus here. Type 99 denotes the 99th year of the Meiji reign in Japan? Russian's captured German 98K's and electro penciled and "blackened" the bolts of German weapons too.
