When I used to live in Florida as a teenager my buddy Tony and I would go down the road to Blackwater Creek on Highway 44A to go Catfishing. We had old surplus ALICE packs packed with rods and reels and snacks and he usually toted two shotguns, a .410 and a 12 ga. . We'd go there early in the morning and fish until dark, we could bring home a pile of fish too. Sometimes, if we were lucky, we would get a gator and hot foot the tail home to Tony's Grandparents. Tony's Grandfather, Mr. Hogan would send us back down there to catch more fish. I took some home and shared some with Tony and Mr. and Mrs. Hogan too. We should have had a few mounted but the idea of eating them sounded much better.
When evening rolled around the Hogan's would have a fish and gator tail supper. Corn Bread or Fry Bread, Turnip or Collard greens, plenty of soda and good times too. Tony and I could eat back then. I miss that kind of cooking still to this day. ;D

We couldn't down there, too much of a risk of gators. LOL! If was a bit further north like Kentucky I sure would have! Hey Neil? Let's give it a whirl! ;D
