OK, Here I go again with my usual useless tid bit of information. Metric system, bullpucky! S.A.E., BRAVO!!!! Let's use a standard .30 caliber projectile {also, because it is my favorite caliber}. Measure the diameter of the projectile by either using a micrometer or vernier caliper that reads S.A.E. and Metric. Use the "Inch" side first and it will read .308" diameter. Now flip over to the Metric side and it will give the ACTUAL diameter as 7.82mm, not 7.62mm. Keep in mind here, I'm JUST talking about the ACTUAL diameter of the projectile. no more, no less. 'Nuff Sed.
