It was this past December I helped knock down a nice doe. Calibers we had in our group / arsenal were: .243 Win., 7mm Rem. Mag., and .30-06 Springfield. All bolt actions and those are legal in this state, no semi rifles or handguns for hunting legally here. Semi shotguns plugged to three shots are legal. For ALL types of game.
.243 was a back of the neck spine shot, .30-06 from one shot was hit high right shoulder and one 7mm Rem. Mag. and a .30-06 destroyed the right shoulder finally.
Needless to say, it looked like 10 gallons of red paint was splashed all over the snow, it was mighty messy indeed. Hamburger was all that salvageable on that doe. At least she died in a "Blaze of Glory"!
2- .243's, 3- .30-06's, 1- 7mm Rem. Mag. was used by all hunters for last deer season. I know I secured a hit on the doe. My "Green .30 cal. Ballistic Tip" was found lodged under the "armpit" of the does right shoulder. 4 shots fired in all.

That's better than what I did-I didn't even get to go. Fine shooting there.

Too bad you couldn't have joined us here Bear. That .284 Win. would have come in handy out on the back end of the property. Saw some big bucks out there and I know you could have reached out touched 'em!
Thanks for the compliments but sad you couldn't go hunting. I know you'd have had a blast with us!
