Shall we shut this forum down or keep it going?
Bear and I went through a lot of work to start this place and it seems like nobody tries to get their friends in as members or tries to post.
If nobody appreciates it, let ME know in E-Mail or POST it in this page here.
I'm NOT KIDDING!!!!

No problem Bill, but you'd think people would see this place and realize it is not one those "big name" gun forums that went to the dogs like the majority of gun forums have and they would sign in and become active members.

Let's keep it going. We went to too much trouble for it to die out. Eventually it'll take off-we just need more links to us and more word of mouth.

If I had the money, I'd have T-Shirts and car magnets made and "business" cards too.

Hey,
Forums take a while to catch on and need to have a relevance to people's life. There has to be a draw other than "it's another gun forum". I say keep it up but treat it like a business and write up a business plan for it. How would you market it in the global (Internet) marketplace of ideas? What makes you different/special? Who do you want to appeal to? That sort of thing.
Remember also that the value of a business plan is not really the final document but the journey of getting there and putting your ducks in a row (one bullet that way - maximum harvesting efficency). Most people never look at a finished business plan again but it helps cement where they're going and what they're trying to do in their minds. This is especially important for any enterprise being run by more than one person. Everyone needs to be on the same page and know where everyone else stands.
Treat it like you're writing yourself a mission briefing for an assault if that helps get your thought process flowing. Just remember that you're shooting ideas not those .45 ACP rounds you're so enamoured with.

Another thought for you: Here are some other forums. Each is popular in it's own right. Check them out and think, what did this person do differently. What makes this stand out? Why would people come here on a regular basis. www.godlikeproductions.com - I go there because it's a wild marketplace of cracked fringe ideas. It's someplace to get a skewed prospective on things but also someplace that turns out to get the jump on major news stories every once in a while. www.gatesofvienna.blogspot.com - Strong point of view that is very outside of the politically correct one. These guys have a definite viewpoint and agree or disagree they back it up and discuss it with all comers. www.rightwingnews.com - another strong if establishment minded point of view. This is kind of the opposite of godlikeproductions. This is where I go to see what the Republican pulse is like. www.huffingtonpost.com - the Democratic pulse. www.lewrockwell.com - the Libertarian pulse. www.thesurvivalpodcast.com - they provide lots of free content, a good forum that ranges over wilderness survival, home gardening, self sufficiency, firearms, hunting etc. They have a definite philosophy and they are run by a guy who makes his money doing Internet marketing, so you can watch how he's promoting himself for pointers. www.survivalblog.com - one of the premier survivalist sites on the net. This site is all about a strong philosophy and the draw of an experienced military man and rugged individualist sharing his skills with others. Yes, it's kind of a cult of personality, but that's part of the draw too. He's set himself up as the great and special survivalist guru and drawn the yuppies in close around the campfire to tell them scary tales about how to store rice without discovering you have just done nothing more but fed a family of mice for 2 generations.
